SiopNEWydd Update - 01.08.2023

Since our last bulletin informing of our successful application for a Perthyn grant we want to inform you on our activities since then. 

This grant formed 3 areas:-

1. With the aid of the Plunkett foundation a comprehensive assessment of the current policies including employment conditions, H&S arrangements, volunteer guidance and other regulatory arrangements and procedure has taken place.  Volunteers Michele and Maggs have carried out much of this review and we thank them for their invaluable  efforts. It means we can be confident we have good governance in place now, and ready for the new shop.

2. We are close now to finalising a comprehensive strategic business plan for transition to SiopNEWydd. This has been prepared independently by consultants Landsker of St Clears. Once this is completed it will be included as an essential ingredient for all major capital grant applications that we are already preparing to submit to fund the development. 

3. The third area of support under this grant was for developing new branding and marketing for SiopNEWydd.  This was to review and provide templates for both hard copy and digital design, including signage and promotion. Unfortunately, despite significant effort, we were unsuccessful in finding a company suitable to provide a bilingual approach to this in the strict time limit available to apply that element of funding.  However, If anybody can recommend a proven company to approach we’d be pleased to consider them in future.

We appreciate that from a distance progress appears to be very slow but please be assured that a great deal of work is being carried out to ensure we have the most professional and comprehensive approach to grant applications possible which in turn will give us the best opportunity to be successful in our aims.
