Thank you to all those who responded to the design feedback process we went through in December. The directors have very much welcomed everyone’s input.
All the comments received from you were collated and given to the shop directors to consider. From the diverse and often contrasting perspectives the directors have given us clear instructions to work on with the architects. They were formed from your comments on all aspects of the project including design, layout, budget and business plans as well as the ambition of the project.
We have already had a very positive meeting with the architect to relay these instructions and are now waiting a revision of the drawings to work on. As soon as we have something to show or to feedback to the community we will do so. We all share the frustrations that the process is taking longer than anticipated or hoped to get to this point, due largely to the Covid restrictions etc. However, the key to success in securing planning permission, winning funding, and having a sustainable new shop depends on our thoroughness to get an effective design.

As anticipated we received a wide range of responses and perspectives. We are now collating this in a suitable format both to share with the architects so they can respond with any design changes, and of course with the shop directors whose ultimate decisions will determine our approach.
